I wanted to let the stone take center stage in this design. Dendritic agate is one of those stones that feels like a tiny piece of art — the inclusions form naturally over time, often resembling tree branches or foggy landscapes. This one instantly reminded me of those early spring days in New England, when the trees are still bare and there’s a little chill in the air, but you start to feel the change of seasons coming.
I set the stone in a handmade bezel on a solid silver backing, then added a couple of my hand-sculpted leaves and a simple dot element — just enough silverwork to frame the stone and add that touch of interest, without taking anything away from the pattern in the agate. The bail is fixed in place, and the chain is included with this piece. I oxidized the silver to bring out the texture in the leaves and then polished the whole piece to a bright shine.

Argentium Sterling Silver is a high grade of sterling silver. Traditional sterling silver is 92.5% silver while Argentium is 94% pure silver. In addition to a higher silver content, Argentium is also certified nickel free, created from recycled silver, brighter white in color and is naturally tarnish resistant due to having less copper present than traditional silver. Argentium Sterling Silver is transparent about what their alloy is so you can be sure you are getting hypoallergenic nickel free sterling silver.
